Development Milestone: The Most Overlooked Ability by Parents and Teachers

Date: 14 March 2026

Location: SJK (C) Rompin

Invited by Rise and Shine Childcare Centre, we successfully held our community talk on 14 March 2026 at SJK(C) Rompin, Pahang. The session brought together parents and educators to explore why children sometimes struggle despite repeated guidance.

We discussed what developmental milestones truly mean, highlighting that behaviors such as incomplete homework, difficulty following rules, or frequent emotional outbursts may stem from underlying challenges like motor planning, emotional regulation, and flexible thinking—rather than “attitude problems.”

The session helped shift perspectives: participants began to see the “why” behind a child’s behavior, fostering more empathetic and effective responses. It also strengthened collaboration between parents and educators, emphasizing the importance of consistency and shared understanding. Several participants expressed interest in further assessments and intervention support.

This talk was more than an information session—it was a step toward helping children be better understood, not just better managed. At Rework, we believe that when adults shift their understanding, children gain the opportunity to truly grow.
